Alexander Carson Goes For a Brand New Single “The Museum”

Alexander Carson

Talking about the new single, Alexander Carson shares: “The Museum is the first single taken from my third solo album “The Idiot.” The track is about the loss of youth and naivety, inspired by JD Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye. The Museum is littered with tongue in cheek references to poisons, Abba classics, and western societies’ collective obsession with their phone screens.

Alexander Carson’s penchant for stunning melodies and atmospheric instrumentation are a delight to behold on his new single ‘The Museum’ as he artistically sets his poetic, and candidly observational, lyrics to a tapestry of vocal harmonies, reverberating piano and strings with an echoing, sliding guitar. Alexander’s soft vocals are a healing remedy that deeply resonates, inviting the listener into a world that values a simpler side of life.

This song is perhaps the most reminiscent of my previous outfit Wooden Arms as this features a lavish string section provided by Owen Morgan (Double Bass), Josephine Stevenson (Cello) and Jessica Diggins (violin) to create a rich, layered tapestry of sound in the song’s finale.

Drums and engineering were provided by Fabian Prynn (Douglas Dare / DD Dumbo) at 4AD studios, and marks one of the many songs from “The Idiot” that myself and Fabian both collaborated on. More singles from the album will be released in 2022 in the lead-up to the album coming out on vinyl/CD in Autumn.”

Alexander Carson is a singer/songwriter and composer based in Norfolk UK. Carson spent the better part of 7 years as the lead singer, and songwriter for genre-fluid quintet Wooden Arms. His debut album “Ellipsism” came out on Diversion Records in April 2019 and the follow up instrumental album “Tombland” was released in February 2020. His next record “The Idiot” will be released Autumn 2022.
