J Balvin and Skrillex Goes For a New Single “In da ghetto”
J Balvin teams with Skrillex on a brand new single “In Da Ghetto” featured along with an official video
Directed by Alfred Marroquín, the video captures the track’s infectious energy as he meets the duo across a slew of different parties. The video and track art feature TikTok comedy star Khaby Lame, one of the platform’s fastest-growing content creators, who initially revealed the art earlier this week, as well as Mufasa who dances with Balvin in the visual in addition to being one of the premier dancers on TikTok.. The video also arrives ahead of Balvin’s appearance on TikTok’s Headstream tomorrow at 4PM PT/7PM ET, where he’ll talk about the song and talk to fans in the live chat
The new track includes elements of the 90’s hit “In De Ghetto” by David Morales and The Bad Yard Club feat Crystal Waters and Delta. Morales’ original was a staple of New York club culture in the 90’s, so it’s only fitting that Balvin, Skrillex and Tainy would reimagine it in their vision to serve as a new summer classic.

Showcasing Balvin’s love of collectibles, the artist and Hasbro are releasing the first Transformers figure based on a musician, the “J Balvintron,” which will be available for pre-order for $69.99 on Tuesday, July 13th at 9am PST/12pm EST here. The Transformers news comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of Balvin’s collaboration with Kokies on two limited edition toys, a pink-haired and yellow-haired J Balvin figurine, both of which are now available for pre-order and will be shipped at the end of July. Finally, J Balvin is announcing NEÓN Punta Cana – an all-inclusive beach experience with headline performances right on the beach, club nights in Punta Cana, and pool parties at multiple different pools on the Punta Cana property, where all food and drinks are included, to take place this December in the Dominican Republic. NEÓN Punta Cana is an expansion of Balvin’s NEÓN series, which includes three sold out weekends of performances by J Balvin and friends in Las Vegas this September.
Balvin also has four nominations at this year’s MTV MIAW Awards, landing 2 songs on Spotify’s Top Global Songs Chart (“Qué Más Pues” peaked at #9 and “Poblado Remix” at #37), and “Que Más Pues” becoming the song with the most video creations on TikTok in all of Latin America. It also follows “Poblado Remix” debuting at #11 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, Balvin’s nomination for Top Latin Artist at the Kids’ Choice Awards Mexico, his announcement of a third weekend of his sold-out NEÓN festival in Las Vegas, and comes after he was revealed as one of the headliners for New York City’s Governor’s Ball this September.
