Erica Banks and DreamDoll teams up on a brand new hot Remix for “Toot That” featuring BeatKing
The original tune, featuring Banks’ fellow Texan BeatKing, was released last summer. But, as the world reopens, the track is set to take on a new life in the clubs it was meant to hit in the first place. It also arrives alongside a hilarious, stylish new video.
“Wanna call this woman up, tell that hoe good luck/She gon’ f*ck him like she like him/I’ma f*ck him like a slut,” she raps on the infectious Sgt J-produced beat. Banks’ rhymes ring off like usual as she offers blunt commands: “Throw it in rotation, make that nigga get up on it, b*tch/Do it like you nasty, do it like you own it, b*tch.” The remix comes complete with throbbing bass, Insta-caption-worthy bars, and an instructive hook that begs to be repeated.
Featured along with the release, the official music video see Banks has her own baddie consulting firm, and DreamDoll seems to be her partner. When a beautiful young woman pulls up to get some advice, Banks takes her to school, which involves some twerking and a gym session, perfect accompaniments for the song’s infectious energy.
That trek began last summer with her breakout single, “Buss It,” built on a clever sample of Nelly’s 2002 hit “Hot in Herre.” Powered in part by the #BussItChallenge, a TikTok dance trend that received over 3 billion views, the song went viral, and in the time since it was released, it’s racked up over xx streams and hit Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. Riding that momentum, Banks has ventured into merch, joining forces with AKIRA to sell official BUSS IT shirts.
While she’s been working for years, and writing since she was a kid, “Toot That” shows Banks is leveling up like never before in 2021.
