Hot on heels with her latest single, Victoria Monét is back with the official music video for “F.U.C.K.”
By embracing the idea of relationships without society’s traditional confinements, the video tells a story of a woman and “her stunning cohort”, Tanerélle doing whatever it takes to feel liberated. The song was written by Monét and produced by longtime friend and collaborator D’Mile.
Victoria Monét shares about the new video, “‘F.U.C.K’ is a nod to the millennial and gen Z mindset. We do not have to be confined to traditional commitment ideals, and instead, embody the freedom to be intimate when and with whom we mutually please! I wanted to give that non-binding friendship intimacy an official name…the way we see it, if you’re never in a relationship, you technically can never break up. It’s forever fun, it’s playful, it happens. So…F.U.C.K it!” Monét shares on the release.
The new single from Victoria “F.U.C.K” is the first release to follow critically heralded project JAGUAR, Monét’s 2020 independent project released via Platoon. JAGUAR is a boundless and uncompromising artistic statement from Victoria that speaks volumes to female empowerment, sexual freedom, self-expression.
Just ahead of the JAGUAR’s release, Monét dropped disco-influenced “Experience,” produced and featuring SG Lewis, which made a global impact and continues to have a viral presence with trending roller skating videos. Featured artist Khalid provides an unparalleled perfect match to Monét’s breezy vocal balm. The single was released on Juneteenth in celebration of Black joy, life and love. Collectively, the singles have earned acclaim, landing Monet her late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing “Moment”. Monét has been a favourite for streaming platforms, with early support from Apple Music (Up Next Artist), Spotify, Amazon, YouTube and Deezer.
