Au/Ra

Global pop music star Au/Ra Returns with a new alt-pop single “Bite Marks” featured along with an official video

The new single ‘Bite Marks’ a hypnotic alt-pop track with a psychedelic visual focusing on the sting of a heartbreak that you knew was coming.

“Bite Marks” was written in LA with CJ Baran, the pair penned the entire song the first day they met. The video was recorded in her home country of Antigua, where Au/Ra has spent all of her time through lockdown. She said:

She says, Bite Marks is about letting someone into your life knowing they could hurt you – that fear becoming reality, and feeling stupid for letting it happen. It’s about playing the fool, knowingly, and having to grow and live with the bite marks that leaves behind.

Au/Ra has created a unique and powerfully emotive world, filled with innovative original songs that explore the dark nature of humanity via strong melodies, evocative songwriting, and transcendent production.

She’s now got two UK Top 40 tracks under her belt with 2018’s platinum hit, the Camelphat remix of ‘Panic Room’ and more recently as a feature on Jax Jones’ ‘i miss u’ which is still riding high in the airplay charts and gave her a big TV moment as she performed alongside him on Little Mix The Search. The track was playlisted at Radio 1, Capital and Kiss FM, selling over 5.5 million copies worldwide. The original version of Panic Room, has gone viral on TikTok more than once, and the Camelphat remix stayed in the Top 40 for 9 weeks. Meanwhile her collaboration with Alan Walker on his single ‘Darkside’ has amassed over 400million streams globally.

Au/Ra’s astute, honest and exhilarating song-writing and her real and relatable storytelling is inherent in everything she does creatively. From concept to fully realised product, every track and video has a distinctive plot, and creatively, she has a need to use art to make sense of the world around her. Aware that her fans are all experiencing similar things, from mental health issues, existentialism or her generation’s complex relationship with social media, her music is the embodiment to Gen Z’s hopes and fears.
